For Patients Coming to ABQ

We recognize that your decision to have an abortion is deeply personal.

There are no circumstances surrounding your pregnancy that will make you more or less deserving of assistance. Every pregnancy and situation is different, and as people of faith, the staff and volunteers of the NM Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice believe in loving our neighbors and treating one another as we would like to be treated—with dignity and respect. Our work is grounded in religious principles of love and acceptance of all people, and we believe that together we can end the shame and stigma associated with abortion.

If you are having your abortion in New Mexico and you need help with lodging, transportation, or meals, click here to complete our secure online application. If your internet access is limited and/or you are having trouble using our online application, call or send us an email and let us know you need a paper application.

Learn more about how we help women who travel to see abortion providers in New Mexico by reading about our work in Cosmopolitan Magazine, ReWire, and the Santa Fe New Mexican.

We cannot pay for abortions, and all other services are provided by volunteer hosts and drivers. Our volunteers are not available for Sunday arrivals or Saturday departures, and we will do our best to get you to your appointments. Because we rely on volunteers, no guarantees can be provided, especially if you are arriving or leaving very late at night or early in the morning.

No hotels, plane, bus, or train tickets, or gas cards are provided. You are not required to bring a support person with you, but if you do, we can only accommodate one support person.

You must contact us the Friday before your appointment is scheduled or we will not have enough time to make sure everything is ready when you get here.

If you send your application, call, or email after 5pm Mountain Time, Monday-Thursday, we will be in touch with you by 5pm the next day.

If you send your application, call, or email after 5pm on Friday or on Saturday or Sunday, we will be in touch with you by 5pm on Monday.

If you have put in an application and have a change in plans, or haven’t heard from us within our timeframes, you may call our patient hotline at 1.505.398.1010 (must dial ‘1’) or send us an email. All calls on weekends and evenings after 5pm Mountain Time go to voicemail.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers & Fake Clinics

Sometimes people who are against abortion set up fake clinics, some of which are called Crisis Pregnancy Centers. They will often offer free pregnancy tests and counseling to deter you from choosing an abortion.

To find legitimate abortion providers, go to www.prochoice.org, or check the Yellow Pages and only call the clinics listed under the title ‘Abortion Providers’.
