HB 51 was tabled in HCPAC on Thusday, February 9!
Call or email the members of HCPAC who voted to table HB 51, Cmte. Chair Gail Chasey, Rep. Moe Maestas and Rep. Bill O’Neill, and thank them for standing with the young women of New Mexico and voting to table the Parental Notification for Minors. You can read the statement by the NMRCRC Board on why we must oppose these types of bills.
Question: Why do we thank our legislators for voting to table bad bills instead a do not pass?
Answer: A vote to table a bill kills it, but a do not pass vote moves the bill to its next committee, or to the House or Senate for an up or down vote.
